The Three C’s: Change, Consistency and
Challenge.
My
program focuses on these absolutely essential aspects of
an ideal diet and exercise program.
Change
The body responds best to unaccustomed
stressful stimuli (exercise). That is something about human
physiology that is always true. For maximum results, a program
must have at its basis some changes, subtle or blatant, to
keep the body in a constant state of challenge. Change is
not only favorable, it is required for adaptation to occur.
Change means more than simply increasing the amount of
weight you bench press - think outside the box. There are
literally hundreds of proven ways to edit your diet and
exercise program from year to year, day to day, second
to second. My fitness program incorporates change in every
aspect to keep you constantly improving.
Consistency
Typical fitness routines are inconsistent
in what aspects of diet or exercise are emphasized. For example,
I believe that the backbone of any great fitness routine is
hip extension (squats, lunges and deadlifts). Hip extension
exercises are ideal for many reasons: they create the most
hormonal changes, they require the most muscle recruitment,
they are the most effective in bringing about an increase in
metabolism and they are the most relevant to sport. I believe
hip extension exercises must be the focus of your training
week. In typical or poorly constructed fitness routines, these
exercises are either not emphasized or completely neglected.
My fitness program will be consistent about accentuating hip
extension.
Challenge
Not just any change will do. We want change
within the bounds of exercise physiology that will progressively
challenge us. We are not making changes just for the sake of
change, but for progression toward a goal. Whether you strive
for aesthetics or athletics, you must challenge yourself. Only
then will you know your current boundaries. My program will
focus on challenge to get you to your goals quickly.
A good way to describe the most efficient diet and exercise
plan would be “consistently challenged by change”.
A unique combination of the three C’s can be constructed
in a way to serve the exact needs of the individual and that
individual’s goals. I will provide you with the appropriate
amount of change, consistency and challenge to produce the
results you desire. |
